The Street Project Screening & Panel

  • Griffin Hall Digitorium, Northern Kentucky University 500 Louie B Nunn Drive Highland Heights, KY, 41099 United States (map)

Watch The Street Project with the Northern Kentucky Forum, then engage with a panel of politicians, advocates, and scholars who'll discuss how we can make streets safer in our region. The screening will begin at 6, followed but the panel at 7pm. Can't attend in-person? Virtual options available: RSVP for more information.

The Northern Kentucky Forum is a collaboration of NKU's Scripps Howard Center for Civic Engagement, the Boone County Public Library, the Campbell County Public Library, the Kenton County Public Library and LINK NKY. The Forum's purpose is to foster civil, civic dialogue on topics of community interest.

The Street Project is an inspiring story about a global movement to reclaim our largest public spaces, our streets. For Dulcie, stopping vehicular violence has become a life mission. Both Dulcie and her mother were victims of hit-and-run crashes, 10 years apart. For Stacey, inaction by her city council after five pedestrians were hit by cars in her neighborhood, has led to her fight for change. (PBS, 2022, 52 minutes)

Community leaders on the panel include:

  • Ron Washington, Mayor, City of Covington

  • Cory Wilson, Project Director, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC)

  • Steve Klare, Volunteer, Pickett’s Corner Bike Ministry

  • Emily Webster, Book Specialist, Roebling Books
